Fred Faylona is a first-generation immigrant from the Philippines pursuing the American Dream with a passion for community engagement through his volunteer and social organizations.
He grew up in the suburbs of Manila, Philippines but found home in Central Pennsylvania in 2006. He was raised Catholic and attended Ateneo de Manila University, a Jesuit-run institution where he imbibed the concept of men for others committed to the promotion of social justice and rejection of any kind of intolerance, discrimination, and hate.
He is currently serving his first term in office as the first Asian-American elected to the Board of Commissioners of Susquehanna Township, PA, a first-class municipality in Dauphin County, with a population of over 27,500 residents.
He is also a lifelong technologist, having worked in the government, education, telecommunications, information technology, and healthcare sectors in the Philippines and the United States of America. He is currently a Database Administrator at InnovAge, managing the company's data platforms consisting of Microsoft SQL Server, Snowflake, and Tableau Cloud.
Lastly, he is a Filipino-American community leader, having recently served as Vice-President of the Philippine-American Association of Central Pennsylvania between 2018 and 2024. He just recently registered the 501-c(6) non-profit Philippine-American Chamber of Commerce of Central Pennsylvania, which aims to help build Filipino-American entrepreneurship in Central Pennsylvania.
